One major thing I want to do eventually is make modern-sounding videogame music to sell to indie-game developers. He's also used it live a couple times with success, which I hopefully plan to do as well. He's made some good stuff involving Harmor, too. Dubstep is something I'd like to work on on the side, since I have some very interesting ideas for that genre that I don't think have been done before. I've heard it called the 'Sound-designers dream.' It's apparently a really heavy and rather complex synth, but it's one that I would like to learn, especially since it's reasonably priced. It leads to a lot of options for creating things. The interesting thing about Harmor is that it's an additive synth in the basic body of a subtractive synth, making it almost a bit of both.
But my guess is that Harmor can probably make very similar sounds with the right techniques.I definitely liked what I've heard of both Harmor and Razor. I have not used Razor because of the lack of a demo. Are there any other free synth's you'd recommend, particularly additive ones?But only you know if you like the sounds of it or not, so try the demo. And, I actually like Oatmeal more aside from the far-larger popularity of Synth1.
It's one of those things that I'd grow to love after spending some good time with it, but I probably wouldn't make much good music with it for awhile. I can feel how powerful it is, but it's just so much. I tried the demo and barely knew where to start. Harmor just looks so comprehensive, though.
